Special Fertility & Healing Event for Colorectal Cancer Patients

Worth the Wait is co-hosting a two-part webinar called Resources and Reflection on Fertility in Colorectal Cancer (CRC) with nonprofit partners Elephants and Tea and COLONTOWN.

Session 2: February 12 8-9:30pm EST/7-8:30pm CST/6-7:30 MST/5-6:30 PST

Join us for a two-part series for the colorectal cancer community on fertility. In the first session, we will hear from top doctors in the cancer and fertility space, as well as information regarding growing your family in a variety of ways after a CRC diagnosis. 

The second session will be a Healing Through Writing Workshop utilizing writing and self expression to explore the emotional impact of a CRC diagnosis and the effect it can have on fertility and family planning.

Speakers include:

Kristen Ciombor, MD

Dr. Kristen Ciombor is an oncologist at Vanderbilt University Medical Center and Co-Leader of their Translational Research and Interventional Oncology Research Program. She specializes in the treatment of patients with gastrointestinal cancers.

Andreana N. Holowatyj, PhD, MSCI

Dr. Andreana Holowatyj is an Assistant Professor of Medicine and Cancer Biology at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. Her research focuses on improving clinical care and outcomes for patients diagnosed with gastrointestinal cancers. Dr. Holowatyj established and is the Principal Investigator of the Preserving Fertility After Colorectal Cancer (PREFACE) Study, a clinical study that focuses on the essential need to treat the whole patient for whom multiple life domains are impacted after a colorectal cancer diagnosis before the age of 50.

Caitlin Martin, MD

Dr. Caitlin Martin is a Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility doctor and Assistant Professor of Clinical Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Pennsylvania. Her special interests include infertility, fertility preservation, and oncofertility.
