Meeting Friends and Patients at CancerCon

Worth the Wait Exhibits at CancerCon to Elevate AYA Voices on Fertility and Survivorship

Thanks to a generous grant from the American Society of Reproductive Medicine (ASRM), Worth the Wait was proud to attend and exhibit at CancerCon—an annual gathering dedicated to the Adolescent and Young Adult (AYA) cancer community.

Throughout the weekend, our team connected with countless patients and survivors, listening to stories that echoed shared struggles and resilience. Common themes emerged:

💔 The heartbreak of not being offered fertility preservation before treatment

🧠 Ongoing mental health challenges

❤️ Navigating dating and sexual health after cancer

💸 The financial toxicity that often follows survivorship

One of the most powerful moments came during a session led by Mike, whose leadership created space for raw, honest dialogue around fertility. Survivors spoke candidly about the emotional toll of trying to build a family after cancer—the grief, the hope, and the complex decisions no one prepares you for.

Being part of this vibrant, courageous community reaffirmed our mission: to amplify AYA voices, advocate for equitable access to fertility preservation, and ensure no survivor feels alone in their journey to parenthood.
