After months of extensive training and preparation, Worth the Wait patient advocates Chantal Kabwasa Henly, Shane Winnyk and Aaron Albanez, took the stage at the Oncofertility Consortium Conference in Detroit—and they were extraordinary.
With wisdom, candor, and courage, they shared their stories and sparked powerful conversations about how to approach fertility preservation conversations, financial toxicity and the mental burden of navigating these difficult decisions. They received lots of heartfelt feedback from attendees and we couldn’t be prouder of them.
As part of our Patient Advocacy Program, we also hosted a “Writing Through Oncofertility” workshop for advocates and clinicians. It allowed much needed space to reflect, process, and connect through storytelling with social worker and author Kristin Bartley Lenz.
Additionally, advocate Aaron partnered with Dr. Susan Vadaparampil to discuss the value of clinicians partnering with patients to improve patient satisfaction.
This would not have been possible without the help of our title sponsor EMD Serono, Inc. and help from partner sponsors AstraZeneca, Ferring Reproductive Medicine U.S. and supporting sponsors Walgreens and Eisai US.
